“Art & Disaster” is a project team that they send artist disaster area and would restore children’s memory and dream by artistic activity. “Art & Disaster” team consisting of Korean 4 artists (Kang Jeauk, Ha Seok Jun, Im Do One, Shin Kiwoun) visited Tacloban that attacked by destructive typhoon, and restore broken toys by using a 3D printer by the workshop. Artist Kang Jeauk planed this project after visiting the Tacloban last year. The project uses artist Im Do One’s 3D printer named, ‘Botist’. They had workshop program how to use a 3D printer when local people want to recover lost part of things indispensable life. Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation supports this project.
'예술과 재난'은 프로젝트 팀으로 재해지역에 예술가를 파견하여 예술활동을 통해 아이들의 추억을 복원하고 꿈을 심어주는 활동을 하고자 결성되었다. 한국인 시각예술가 4인(강제욱,신기운,하석준,임도원, 김기종, 김성대)으로 구성된 '예술과 재난' 팀이 슈퍼태풍 욜란다로 완전히 파괴되었던 필리핀 타클로반의 산 페르난도 센트랄 스쿨을 방문하여 아이들의 태풍으로 망가진 장난감과 추억을 직접 제작한 3D 프린터로(보티스트) 복원하여 꿈을 심어주는 워크샵을 진행하였다. 아이들과 함께 직접 3d 프린팅된 부품으로 추억이 깃든 장난감들을 복원하였다. 이들은 일주일간 이곳에 머물며 현지 초중고 학생들을 대상으로 3d 프린팅과 3d 드로잉을 이용한 예술프로젝트를 진행하고 돌아왔다. 2015년도 경기문화재단의 지원사업으로 선정되면서 본 프로젝트가 현실화 되었다.

Artist Profile
강제욱 작가는 서울대학교 조소과를 졸업하고 동 대학원을 졸업했다. 2000년대 초반부터 <지오>, <시사저널>, <아시아 나 컬쳐>, <사진예술> 등 국내 외 매체에 세계 각국의 문화, 환경, 역사 등에 관한 다큐멘터리 사진과 글을 기고하여 왔다. 초창기에는 주로 사진작업과 글을 국내외의 대표적인 다양한 매체들을 통해 선보이다가 이후에는 전시회를 통해 기후, 환경 등을 주제로 하는 사회참여적인 작업을 관객들에게 선보이고 있다. 최근 2014 국제미술평론가협회(AICA) 한국 총회에서 한국 작가로 선정되어 전시에 참여 하였다. 이후 2015년 슬로바키아의 Kunsthalle Bratislava 에서 대표 작가로 선정되어 개인전을 가져 주목을 받았다. 예술과 사회와의 소통에 다양한 관심을 가져 학창시절부터 부총학생회장으로 활동한바있으며, ‘사라져가는 수공업자, 우리 시대의 장인들’(삶이 보이는 창, 공저)와 ‘몽골 초원에서 보내는 편지’(이른아침, 공저)등 5권에 이르는 저서가 있고 다수의 국내외 개인전과 그룹전 가졌다. ‘북경시 기록 사진 프로젝트’ 참여작가로도 활동하였으며 예술가로서는 드물게 Unicef, 한국국제협력단(KOICA), 국제백신연구소(IVI), 세계환경포럼, 아프리카 NGO인 피스프랜드 등과 같은 다양한 국제기구, NGO등과 함께 예술을 매개체로 작업을 했오고있다. 현 프레시안 사진기획위원으로 활동하고 있으며 최근 필리핀의 타클로반에서 ‘예술과 재난’ 프로젝트를 기획하여 예술의 사회적 참여와 3D프린팅를 결합한 새로운 가능성을 발견하였다.
KANG Jeauk(b.1977) graduated BA and MA in Sculpture at Seoul National University. He has featured his articles and photos about culture, environment, history in the world at <GEO>, <SISA Journal>, <ASIANA Culture>, <Photography Art> since early 2000s. He presents art works focus on social issues through domestic and international exhibitions. Recently, he nominated have an exhibition as a representative Korean artist at AICA(Intentional Associates of Art Critics) and he received attention after showing his art works at Kunsthalle Bratislava in Slovakia in 2015. He wrote several art books such as ‘Arching project for Beijing City’. As a rarely artist, he has collaborated with Unicef, KOICA, Etc. Kang directed ‘Art & Disaster’ project, which find a possibility connecting 3D printing and participation of social activity in Art.
하석준 작가는 SADI 삼성 디자인 학교, 뉴욕 파슨스 디자인스쿨을 마치고 한국예술 종합학교 미술원 전문사(미디어아트)를 졸업했다. 서울과 이태리 밀라노에서 실시한 미디어 퍼포먼스를 근간으로 인터렉티브 비디오의 새로운 플랫폼에 대한 연구와 작업을 진행중이며 , 인터렉티브 비디오 조각 작품인 ‘디지탈 수도자,고통의 플랫폼’ 을 통해 인터렉티브, 퍼포먼스 그리고 조각의 융합을 통해 작업의 범위를 넓혀가고 있다. 2010년 서울 국제 공연예술에 초청된 음악극 ‘Francisca’에서 영상 연출, 2013년 LG Art center에 서 공연한 ‘REPLICA’의 공동 연출을 맡았다. <Movement of Future> BMW i8 아트 콜라보레이션 프로젝트 , BMW 드라이빙 센터 KOREAN DESIGN - Between Tradition and 는Modernity, 헬싱기 국립디자인미술관 등에서 전시를 가진바 있다. 최근 2015년 월간 퍼블릭아트 <뉴 히어로> 대상 작가로 선정, 2015 아시아프 히든 아티스트부분 최고상 수상, Lumen prize London Shortlist 2015 선정, Siggraph Asia 2015 Art Gallery 선정작가가 되는 등 최근 많은 주목을 받고 있다. 현 인터렉티브 스튜디오 ’멋진신세계’의 디렉터이며 한국예술종합학교 미술원에서 ‘Interactive Programming’을 가르치고 있다. 2014년 부터 세운상가의 ‘스페이스_바421’의 운영작가로 ‘예술과 재난’ 프로젝트를 필리핀에 이어 네팔에서도 진행을 계획중이다.
HA Seok-Jun(b.1971) is artist and director of BNW(Brave New World) Interactive Art Studios. He studied at SADI Samsung Art & design institute and Parsons Design School in New York. HA received MFA School of visual art(Video art) at Korean National University of Arts. He has presented media performance based on interactive video in Seoul and Italy. At the same time he developed his idea through new video platform such as interactive video sculpture titled, ‘The Digital Monk as the Platform of Suffering’. He features his art works by combining interactive art, performance, and sculpture in many ways. HA directed art project ‘Finding E-waste’ in 2014, performing art program <Replica> at LG Art Center in 2013 and <Fransisca> at Sejong Culture Center in 2010. He award <New Hero> artist in 2015, the first prize in ASIAF HIDDEN ARTIST in 2015. He is teaching interactive art part in Korean National University of Arts. He is one of director of non-profit art organization ‘Space_ba421’ in Sewoun Sangga.
임도원 작가는 서울대학교 미술대학 조소과 및 동대학원을 졸업하고 최근 베이징에 위치한 Can Foundation 레지던시에 선정되어 참여 한바 있으며. 1999년 독립 단편 애니메이션 제작 집단 “Freezm” 공동 대표를 시작으로 애니메이션 기획사 “cube factory”, 디지털조각회, 혼자팩토리(Honja Factory), 3D프린터 개발자등 다양한 활동을 하며 예술의 사회적 역할에 대해 고민하고 있다. 2012년에는 서울국제 뉴미디어 페스티벌 NEMAF “뉴미디어 아트상” 수싱하기도 했다. 저서로는 2014 ‘라이노 예제로 배우는 크리에이티브 3D 프린팅&모델링’ (도서출판 미진사). 최근 오픈한 2014 <서울 지하철 9호선 봉은사역 “인in人” >공공미술 프로젝트와 공감 기획의 DMZ 전시 2015년 “통일 그 앞에서다” 파주 에코뮤지엄길에도 참여 하였다. 2014년 부터 세운상가의 ‘스페이스_바421’의 운영작가로 ‘예술과 재난’ 프로젝트를 필리핀에 이어 네팔에서도 진행을 계획중이다.
IM Do One(b.1979) completed BFA and MFA sculpture in Seoul National University. He was selected artist at CAN Foundation Beijing Residency in 2014. He was a co-founder of independent animation film company ‘Freezm’, animation company ‘cube factory’, Association of Digital Factory and run his art studio named ‘Honja factory’. He has concerned his position in diverse social activity using art such as an artist and 3D printer developer. He awarded <New Media art prize> at Seoul international new media festival in 2012. IM wrote <the Creative 3D printing & Modeling through the examples of Rhiino>(Mijin, 2014). His 3D printing art works were introduced at <The Line-Stand in front of Unification>, curated by Art Company Gong Gam, ECO Museum in Paju. In recent, he had a solo show titled, <Botist Service Center, think of the 3D printing workshop for 2years, at Space_ba421 in Seoul. He is one of director of non-profit art organization ‘Space_ba421’ in Sewoun Sangga since 2014.
신기운 작가는 서울대학교 미술대학 조소과 및 동대학원을 졸업하고 런던대학교 골드스미스 컬리지에서 MFA를 마쳤다.2007년 중앙미술대전에서 대상을 수상한 이래 2010년 영국의 블룸버르 뉴 컨템포러리 미술상, 2012년 SIA Media Artist Award를 수상하였다. 주로 시간, 현실, 존재, 일루젼, 사라짐 이 다섯가지 주제를 중심으로 작업을 진행해 왔다. 작품의 출발은 비디오에서 물체를 가는 것에서 시작되었지만 이후 작가는 액체의 증발로 발전시킨 후 슬로우 모션 비디오 작품으로 관심 주제를 표현하고 있다. 최근 노르웨이의 라데몬 아티스트 레지던스 프로그램에 참여 하였으며 2013년 <굿모닝, 굿에프터눈, 굿이브닝>, 윌링앤딜링과 싱가폴 아트센터 에스플라나드 <이동/정지된-이동> 개인전을 포함하여 <The Thermocline of Art - New Asian Waves> ZKM등 다수의 국내외전을 가졌다. 현재 영남대학교 미술대학 트랜스아트 전공을 담당하고 있으며 2014년 부터 세운상가의 ‘스페이스_바421’의 운영작가로 ‘예술과 재난(기획_강제욱)’ 프로젝트에 참여 하고 있다.
SHIN Kiwoun(b.1976) received BFA and MFA in Sculpture at Seoul National University. He studied MFA in Fine Arts at Goldsmiths College, London University. He was a winner of the JoongAng Art Prize in 2007, selected artist at the New Bloomberg Contemporary art award in 2010, and nominated for the SIA Media Art Award in 2012. He has interests in five subjects like as Time, Reality, Existence, Illusion, Disappearance. His art works start from slow motion video art which grinding selected objects by his own made machine. Recently, he was selected artist of Lademoen Kunstner Verkstedet, Trondheim in Norway. He had a solo show titled, <Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening> in Space Willing N Dealing and <Movement/Anti-Movement> at the Esplanade_Singapore Art Centre in Singapore. He presented several international group shows such as <The Thermocline of Art - New Asian Waves> at ZKM. He is a prof. of Transart in Yeungnam University. He is one of director of non-profit art organization ‘Space_ba421’ in Sewoun Sangga since 2014.
